Mansford Estate? Never heard of it! Well we hadn't either until we got involved with Housing Choice. Mansford Estate is not a natural grouping - it is a recent name invented by the Council for the purpose of Housing Choice.

The estate is made up of more than 700 homes in 28 blocks. The blocks were built in various styles from 1957 to 1976. They are sandwiched in between Hackney Road and Bethnal Green Road. Old Bethnal Green Road slices the estate into two parts which we call Mansford North and Mansford South, and the two halves don't quite join together because Oakland School is in the way.
