Fourth Draft

4.5 WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO RENTS IF TRANSFER DOES NOT HAPPEN AND THE ESTATE STAYS WITH THE COUNCIL?

If the transfer does not go ahead, the Government's new rent policy would still apply and your home would still have to meet the target rent for the area. However, the major regeneration programme proposed in this document would not take place. The Council does not have enough money to fund the regeneration proposals. Any money it has needs to be shared between all of the 25,000 Council-owned properties across the Borough.
