The vision for Mansford Estate

The Lon Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH) and Tower Hamlets Community Housing Limited ("THCH") have been working on these proposals with residents from Mansford Estate ("the Estate") since May 2004. Together we want the estate to be a place where people choose to live, bring up their families and retire: a place where everyone lives in a modern, affordable home in a safe and pleasant environment. If tenants vote for this proposal the estate will transfer to THCH. THCH proposes to invest around £22 million on the estates over a 4 year period.

In consultation with residents on the Mansford Estate, THCH has drawn up proposals for repairs and improvements to your homes. These will not only bring all the properties up to a good state of repair, including new kitchens and bathrooms where necessary for tenants, but will also improve the security and environment of the area and provide much needed play areas on the estate.

The programme proposed by THCH will:-

• Improve safety and security to the estate
• Create an attractive environment for all to be proud of
• Provide a local housing management service with a local cleaning team
• Provide an effective and efficient local repairs service with a locally based handyperson
• Tackle overcrowding
• Provide improved community facilities

This proposal represents a unique opportunity to bring about this vision.
