2.5 The key benefits of the transfer
The key benefits of the transfer (if it goes ahead) would be:
- Residents would have a direct say in the management of the estate through the Area Resident Board which also elects a tenant Director to the Board and through the Leaseholder Steering Group, which also elects a Leaseholder Director to the Board.
- Better value for money. Whether or not transfer goes ahead, your rent will only go up in line with Government policy. However, with transfer the estate would be regenerated as described in Section 3.
- The protection of your key rights would be guaranteed through a contract between the Council and and by a new assured tenancy agreement. The proposed new tenancy agreement is set out in a separate booklet. This is available from [].
- The provision of an efficient, local, responsive service in the day-to-day management of homes, estates and community facilities.
