HOW ARE SERVICE CHARGES CALCULATED AT THCH?

Our Leaseholder Steering Group (LSG), which meets quarterly and is open to all leaseholders and THCH jointly, agreed the process for calculating service charges. The method decided on is as follows:

Method of Charge Calculation

Communal Boiler Maintenance

Bulk Rubbish Removal

The apportioned charge is based as far as possible therefore on the actual cost to each block or estate and based on the cost of the actual services agreed and received.

THCH provides leaseholders with accurate and timely information about the services they receive, the cost of those services and the amount due in service charge payments. We also set aside a week each year when leaseholders can visit our offices and inspect all bills paid on their behalf. So if for example you want to check out whether you are being charged the correct proportion of a communal electricity bill, you will be able to see all those bills paid for in your block.

Whilst it is difficult to make exact comparisons because of differences in properties and also the lack of information we have from LBTH on their service charges. However we do have a comparison for a typical 3 bedroomed ex-GLC maisonette, which shows that with roughly the same services being provided are approximately 13% cheaper with THCH. This shows that costs with THCH are likely to decrease should you choose THCH as your partner RSL:
